It comes as the first of what we hope to be a long running series between Cr2 and Space, focusing primarily on Space as a touring brand, which has grown ferociously over the past few years. âSpace around the worldâ incorporates those such sounds into a 3 disc CD. Coming from Spain himself he recognizes what the brand aims to portray, and similarly holds a large part in Spaceâs newer venture as a touring company.įor twenty years Space have been drawing crowds from across the globe to witness their seminal understanding of house music, within the walls of such unique venues. Camilo Franco has been playing good, respected house music for Space since his first individual gig for the club, to his now regular night there. Playing alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Moby, Eric Morillo and Pete Tong, there is no other way to describe this man than a veteran of house music. Between 19 Deluxe also put out releases: 'An American Adventure EP' and 'I Know' on Cross Section records - catering for the likes of Derrick May, Norman Jay, CJ Mackintosh, Erick Morillo and Darren Emerson.Since the success of the Space Ibiza 2009 album mixed by MYNC, Cr2 have been invited back to put together âSpace around the worldâ, mixed by Elio Riso and Camilo Franco, two of the longest standing Space residents.Įlio Riso whose house and tech house vibes spring from his Argentinian roots, has been in the music industry for 20 years, 10 of those playing for Space and We Love Sundays. Sharing the same enthusiasm and passion for music, the three decided to set up a label: Ice Cream Records – a certain inspiration of the speed garage movement: 'RIP Groove' under Deluxe and Amidora's Double 99' moniker being their most notable release in 1997. In 1994, whilst still at the record shop, Deluxe met, graphic designer Omar Amidora and hardcore label: Boogie Beat, owner, Andy Lysandrou. At 14 he gained a Saturday job in Time Is Right records, in Islington's Chapel Market and whilst there perfected mixing skills that, although he was still under 18, led him to a slot at Ministry of Sound standing in for CJ Mackintosh, And he rocked it.
